Blackout!

We experienced a real-life power outage last Friday morning. What would happen if we didn't get our electricity back on for a long time? Imagine that we have to go to school for a week without any electricity at all. How would school be different? What could we do to still learn and grow for a week in a blackout?

I think we would like do all the assinments on the markerboards and the teachers would have to draw all the assinments on paper, that would be like sixty drawn assinments. And the whole school would have to bring there lunch to school the whole week.

Electricity... One thing that makes our school go. On Friday of last week which was April 7th,2006 the O'Neill Elementary's power went out. If we didn't have that electricity back we would be out alot of things. The laptops and palms would work but, they need charged after a little bit. We would have to use the old,"paper and pencils." Flaslight would work great!!! We might of had to use a flashlight to see around in the day but soon enough the sun would have gave us enough light to see.
Well thankfully we got our power back!!!

School would be very dark if we went to school without electricity. We could light candles to have a little light. Well we would not be able to use the lab tops because their battery only lasts two hours. We actually can't use any of the technology. It would be very bad if we didn't have electricity for a week!!

Oh my gosh that day was so cool if there was any other way could get out of school it would happen to us.I mean seriously we have gotten seven days out of school I think, and we have had I think at least three late starts. Isn't that amazing? Oh and about the blackout I think it was awesome that we had a late start. So see ya next time.

It would be cool for a little bit but then again we wouldn't have any to charge any technology( that would be realy bad). anouther reason it would be bad because we couldn't see where we would wright on our papers. I hopoe it never happens again.

Well we could learn by playing a game like a scavenger hunt that had facts on each hint. Also a game for math that is a race! There is much more that you could do that would be fun even in the dark!

(YYYYAAAAWWWWWNNNNNN)Just one more hour, please, MOM. Really?! Yesssss 10:00 late start for friday, April 7th. Part of our town expirienced a blackout and no one at O'Neill pub. had to go to school until 10:00 a.m. Most kids enjoyed sleeping in and others woke up pretty early and then found out about the news. Overall, most just enjoyed the rest of the, well moslty ordinary Friday, of April 7th, '06

It's interesting, that morning I was thinking about that. There would have to be so many sented candles, becase no one has plain candles. Next no computers. No computer= no smart bord. School would be boring!!!!!

It would be cool if electricity didn't come back on. Then we would have no school, but the bad thing is, we would have to go to school into June.

Can you believe it, most of our town including the school lost power for a while. What if we lost power for a whole week of school? It would be really bad because we could only use laptops and palms for a short period of time because we couldn't re-charge them. In mornings it would be dark. However warm it would be outside would be how warm it would be inside. The freezer that holds food wouldn't be a freezer anymore and the food inside would become rotten. Another bad thing would be no running water. Lets just hope that we never ever get a black out for one whole week.

Well, Well, Well, I don't know what I would do really. I wouldn't quite be prepared for that. My friends have actually been in a blackout before. There was a blizzard and they couldn't get electricity for about a week. Anyway I would probably find lots of blankets and candles. Then i would quickly open the frig and pull out the hotdogs to roast over the candles for food. It would be like my family and I would have a little campout in our house! Now I would personaly say that I don't know how that would work for reality because I have never actually lost electricity for more than two hours. Well, I better get going so I'll see ya' next time!!!!

Powers out!!! Man and we were have way to school. Good thing we haerd the radio! Just think that the schol was without power for a very long time. If you went to school you would not have been able to go to the bathroom or get somethin g to drink, have light, the computers would not be on you would have to reset them and turn them on , but a good thing is that the laptops would work for 2 hours then the battery would die. Also I feel bad for the taechers that live far away in like;Emmet,Akinson, and ext, because they might not have heard and so where would they stay because they probally woudn't find out until they got to school. But you got to admit haveing a late start because of the power is pretty cool!!

IF we went to school with no electricity it would be cool (finally),it would be dark in the classroom, and we might have to do worksheets all day because we wouldnt have anything else to do. I think there would be some good things and some bad things about a blackout. but Id rather have a regular school day.

Electricity! On April 7,2006 our school had a power outage. If we did not get our power back for a week and still had to go to school what would happen? Well we coul not use the smart boards and use the marker board. Then the marker would run out of ink and keep having to go to the office a lot. And Mrs.Morrow would be miserable without her technology. Once our power went out and I could not find where I was going. What would your school be like if you electricity went out for a week?

At 9:55 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

We would be able to learn. It would just be hard to see. we could use palms but not SMART Board.

I think school would be the same but just no lights or electricity and maybe no power on the laptop or computers. I don't think there would be any way at all that we could learn because there would be to much fooling around with the (black out). Well I guess we could just go back to old (paper and pencil). So what do you think we would have to do if another (black out)happend?

Why can't we learn in the dark? It would be a little dark but we could use flash light.I can't wright very good babye

If we had a power out for a week and we still had school i would die. if we had no smart board it would bite and if we had no computers or laptops we couldn't blog! i would hate no blogging. we could hardly read because of dark weather and no light because of all the rain! Did i mention that there was a funnel over my house on the night before the blackout? i was asleep but when i woke up in the blackout my mom told me about the funnel and i was happy that i wasn't there because i hate tornados. Hahaha! i laugh at me! hahaha. don't most of us hate tornados, because thet can hurt or kill people? i dont know but i hope to get your answers. thanks for reading this! bye!

If we did not have any electricity at all I think using candels, and lanters would be best,we would not be able to see the best in the dark but if that all we had I would do it.

We may be abble to learn but it might be hard.It whould be hard because that day it was raining and it was dark outside so it would be hard to see unless we all had a flashlight, but it would still be hard. So I dontknow maybe we would still come so we wont have to come to school longer.

P.S. Some of the kids moms couldnt do there hair if they didnt have power! ha ha.

We could for one thing pratice tornado drills in the dark as of a real tornado was actully hitting. If we didn't have electricity for a long time we could play the original Scrabble on teams for the class period. It may be different, but in a good way. We could learn and do a lot of things by doing an experiment. Blackouts forevor!!!!

It is actually kind of cool because then we would not have much homework! yay yay but then we would have no lunch, and water. but it would probaly suck though!

We can still learn things we can learn experements or we don't have to use electricity!! There is a paper, pencil, pen, and all diferent things. You also don't have to use candles in the classroom! Open the window shades dur... That is a simple thing, right? Or we can learn to cook with a fire that would be cool!

Well we could just use paper and pencil. Bt we could do fun games without teconolagy.Like aroung the world and lots more.

If it is a nice day you could go out side. Learn a leston on science find bugs do any thing fun.

Who cares if we have no electricity. We alwase can play games use the marker board.
I liked to be able to sleep in.

At 1:24 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I cant see any thing! If we had a black out for a full week we could still use wireless labtops for language and others.

If we had a a blackout for a week it be like being in the stone-age. WE would give presentations on posters instead of palms we would just read out of text books instead of using internet sites. The point is we'd be in the stone-age

I wouldn't be able to live without technology. I wouldn't even be able to post this blog.

At 1:26 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ow sorry I didn't mean to scream. But I don't know how we would learn without tecnoligy! Well we could learn by playing around the world in math.
Or we could do Socail Studies by playing a west scavinger hunt. So you see we still could learn in with out tecnoligy.

No light. How are we going to survive school without electricity. I have know idea what goes through the tachers minds.
Well I suppose we could we could make up flash cards and play around the world.
We also could make up an experiment and do as much as we could.
Posibly even practice langauge by writing a book.
I guess no light wouldn't by so bad.

it wouldn't be as fun. it would be harder to teach.
